However, it can be oxidized by strong oxidants or reduced by strong reducing agents. It is commonly used to stabilize the pH value of cell growth environment in cell culture medium. Due to its high pKa value and suitability for use on the skin, like EPPS, HEPBS can serve as a buffer in cosmetic raw materials to regulate the acidity and alkalinity of various components in cosmetics.
